The Woodlands Riding and Equestrian Center has a world champion available to train and give lessons to both children and adults.

Our experienced instructor will guide you through the basics of horse riding, from mounting and dismounting to mastering the reins and controlling your horse. You’ll learn all the skills you need to feel confident and comfortable in the saddle, and before you know it, you’ll be riding like a pro!

Horse Riding Lesson FAQS

Have questions about what you need to bring?

We provide lessons to ages 3 and up!

We offer lessons in Western & Classical Dressage as well as Jumping. Please contact us for more information.

Riders are required to wear full length pants, riding boots or closed toed shoes, as well as a riding helmet that can be provided. (Bike helmets are not adequate.)

Options available for lessons.

In most instances a rider will use their personal horse for lessons. However, leasing or rental options may be available for those riders who do not own a horse.

Trinity Nelzen

Certified Equine Trainer

Meet our head trainer and barn manager, Trinity Nelzen, a 2022 Young Rider National Champion. Trinity started racing in 2008 and has competed in more than 40 races over 1,400 miles. She was 1 of 35 individuals selected to compete in the worlds longest and toughest endurance race, “The Mongol Derby”. 

While Trinity can train horses from the ground-up, she specializes in endurance training.
